Containers for sauces and dips
PAKOWANKO's proposal for eco-friendly solutions for sauce and dip containers are products made from sugar cane. This material consists of ground sugar cane fibres, which are a by-product of sugar production. Then, with the addition of water and high pressure, the ground material is formed into the shape of the packaging. Thanks to the material and manufacturing technology, sugar cane products are not subject to the SUP consumer tax required by law from 1 January 2024.
Containers for sauces and dips - closing methods
There are two methods of closing containers for sauces and dips. A lid and a method of sealing with paper. The latter is a solution for large manufacturing companies with the option of printing on paper with food-grade ink that does not react with food.

1. Is it necessary to charge a SUP consumer fee for sauce and dip containers made of sugar cane?
No, there is no legal requirement to pay fees for such packaging.
2. How resistant are the containers to temperature when serving hot sauces?
Sugar cane can withstand up to several hours of warm sauces. However, it is not recommended to use boiling fatty sauces.
3. What sizes of containers are available?
There are two commonly available packaging sizes - 60 and 100 ml. It is possible to produce a dedicated size, but this is a solution for large manufacturing companies due to the cost of production.
4. There are reusable plastic sauce containers on the market, which are not subject to the SUP tax. What is the situation with these solutions?
According to the opinions of Marshal's Offices in Poland, reusable packaging is to be exempt from fees if the packaging is returned to the restaurant. In all other cases, the SUP fee must be charged. It is recommended to carefully verify the solutions used on the market, as the responsibility for charging fees rests with the restaurant.
