Cane pulp – what is it?

Cane pulp is a waste product from sugar production. It consists of so-called pomace, which, when combined with water, is called cane pulp.

Sugar cane, also known as sugarcane, is one of the basic sugar-producing plants. This is because it accounts for about 60% of global sugar production.

Cane pulp is an inedible product, which is why it has gained a reputation as an extremely renewable and biodegradable material. Cane pulp consists mainly of cellulose, which accounts for about 50% of its composition, hemicellulose, which accounts for 25%, and lignin, which accounts for the remaining 25%.

Cane pulp - application

The use of cane pulp makes it possible to produce attractive, environmentally friendly and safe disposable packaging and tableware. These products are water and grease resistant. They maintain adequate rigidity and increase the level of takeaway or on-site food service. The use of cane pulp allows these products to be used in the microwave or oven. The dishes can withstand temperatures of around 200 degrees. Similarly, all products in the range can be frozen. Pakowanko's range includes products made from cane pulp, such as: packaging for main courses (burger boxes, three-compartment boxes, two-compartment boxes, single-compartment boxes, sauce boxes and salad boxes).

Kraft paper

Paper is the second basic material used in the production of disposable eco-friendly packaging. Cardboard boxes, boxes, soup containers, coffee cups and paper takeaway packaging in general are made of kraft paper. It is also known as kraft paper, wrapping paper and, less commonly, grey paper, despite the fact that it is brown. Produced from recycled paper, it fits perfectly into ecological trends, thus gaining increasing popularity. Boxes such as cartons and boxes are food packaging that can be used in many ways. Among other things, they are ideal for packaging burgers, kebabs, pasta, ramen and all kinds of soups, rice, Asian and European cuisine.

Wood

The last but equally important material in the production of eco-friendly products for the catering industry is wood. In this case, the material is used to make biodegradable, disposable cutlery. We are referring here to spoons, forks and knives. In addition, it is ideal for the production of coffee sticks, also known as stirrers.

Over time, human awareness of ecology is growing. What does this mean? The number of people who choose disposable wooden cutlery made from natural materials is increasing. As mentioned above, they are biodegradable, which is of great importance for our planet. The fact that this cutlery decomposes without harming the environment should convince anyone who cares about the environment.

Don't worry! Eating with wooden spoons, wooden knives or wooden forks does not affect the taste or aroma of your food. Your taste buds will still be able to enjoy the food you eat.

Let your company, restaurant, café or catering establishment be associated with an eco-friendly approach. Move away from plastic and synthetic materials and reduce their amount in the environment around us.
